IBG at the Italy-Saudi Arabia business forum organized on the sidelines of the inter-governmental bilateral commission.
The opening of the work was done by Foreign Minister Alfano, who, after recalling the strategic importance of the relations between Italy and Saudi Arabia, took the opportunity to revive relations between the two countries and present the many Opportunities, also for Italian companies, stemming from the ambitious Saudi 2030 vision launched by the Saudi government.
Yousef Alolayn, representative of the Saudi General investment Authority (SAGIA), then illustrated the most important aspects of this programm, which aims to reform the country at all levels, economic, social and cultural. In fact, as Hani Alsaigh, representative of the Saudi National Center for Privatization and partnerships, explained that the vision envisages a large privatization plan, involving as many as twelve sectors and enterprises of the scope of Aramco. On this front, in fact there will be a strict collaboration with the Italian Government given the past experience of numerous privatizations that have happened successfully.
The forum then concluded by illustrating the tools made available by Italian institutions such as SACE and SIMEST in favor of Italian companies operating or intending to operate in Saudi Arabia.
